Tenses are used to express different times.
Simple Present
I want a sandwich.
We
work together.
When the subject is Third Person Singular, the Present Simple Verb ends in "-s".
Lena lives in Canada.
Janet
sings in the choir.
The prisoner
tries to escape.
Simple Past
He left office 15 minutes ago.
Bruce
went to China.
The soldiers
returned home.

Simple Future
I will see you at the airport.
They will build a new bridge.
Robert
will take you home.

Present Continuous
We are going home.
I
am fixing the computer.
Cherry
is shopping at the mall.
Past Continuous
I
was reading a book last night.
They
were dancing on the street.
Tom
was eating alone.
Future Continuous

Anna will be leaving next week.
I will be working on Saturday.
The US team will be playing against England.
Present Perfect
Ron has bought a new car.
We
have seen this before.
I have received a permit to operate business.
Past Perfect

The rain had stopped for two hours.
Joanna had volunteered to help.
They
had returned home.
Future Perfect
I tide will have reached all time high in an hour.
The guests
will have arrived by tomorrow.
Wendy
will have finished college next year.
Present Perfect Continuous
The children
have been playing in the backyard.
We have been doing this for years.
Joe have been sailing solo.
Past Perfect Continuous

We
had been driving for hours.
The roof
had
been leaking for months.

had been practicing her dance.

Future Perfect Continuous
They may be tired because they will have been working.
The snow will have been melting.
