Open Microsoft Word and type the following on a page …

When did he left  the office?
She does not finished
the meal.
They have do their homework.

… and you will see curly green lines underneath the words “left”, “finished” and “do.”

Why? Because they are grammatically wrong. Microsoft Word has a built-in spelling and grammar check feature. If you position your cursor over these words and right click on it you will see the suggested correction offered by Microsoft Word. This feature not only rights our wrongs, but also, aids us in our learning process. If you pay close attention to it, you will improve your language skill over time. A job interviewer once said he could figure out a candidate’s language level as soon as the third sentence came out of the candidate’s mouth. He was not looking for any fancy vocabulary from the candidate. He was monitoring the candidate’s usage of formal English or lack thereof. Poor grammar is a common weakness among us who are struggling to learn English. But it does not have to stay that way. You could improve your English skill in just 14 days. What are you waiting for? Try it. Go to the next job interview with your head held up high. Look straight into the interviewer’s eyes and talk to him or her in confidence. Each time I pray, I will pray for God to lead you in the right path. But you have to do your part. Don’t forget to come back and use the discussion forum to share your success stories.

Take me to the first lesson!
